L'Ancora Restaurant

Went for a date night at L’ancora tonight, we were greeted by a lovely young waiter named Liam, he showed us to our table, spoke us briefly through the menu took drinks orders and left us to have a look through the menu, When he came back with drinks I asked him about a million and one questions about the menu, he answered them all without hesitation and with his help I chose a salmon pasta dish, my date had the lasagna, a garlic bread to share. The food was AMAZING! The lasagna was still bubbling as it was put on our table. The garlic bread was super tasty and my salmon pasta was out of this world, so much flavour and the salmon tasted so fresh! The portions were gigantic, I couldn’t finish mine so boxed up the last bit for lunch tomorrow 🙈 The service was spot on. Then to find out Liam our waiter was only young and just heading off to uni made it even more impressive! Good luck young man, if you do uni like you do service you have a very successful life ahead of you! We had the two mains, garlic bread side and four glasses of wine between us, came to under £70 for it all which was very impressive for the freshness of the food and portion sizes! Limoncello and mints with the bill were a lovely touch also! Will definitely be back and recommend to friends!

Exceptional authentic Italian restaurant. We were visiting family from australia and they suggested this restaurant. It was much better than we expected and we’d like to return asap. Thank you to the awesome team at l’ancora.

We had a fantastic meal here with our friends, food was so tasty and plentiful. So much choice on the menu, we need to come back to try out more dishes! The staff were brilliant, really friendly and you can tell that it is a nice family run authentic Italian restaurant. I highly recommend going here and we look forward to going back next week!

We were really pleased to discover this independent Italian restaurant. Such a difference to the food at the chain Italian restaurants! The food was so much fresher and tastier. It was also very reasonably priced. Our daughter had a margarita pizza that was made into a cute bunny face!

We were greeted by a guy called Leonardo. He was fantastic. For me the service is as important as the food and both were excellent. We will be returning to try other choices from the menu. We had the fish which was really good. We also had the T bone and veal. A very good meal. Well done to all at the restaurant. We was really happy with the bill it was an extremely well priced restaurant. We will be returning soon.

Lovely decorated Italian restaurant, with great service and delicious food. It is the second time I have tried it and I can't wait to go back. Lots of different options in the menu. I highly recommended it.

Excellent from start to finish. Best lasagna I have ever had! Genuine Italian food and service. The lunchtime set menu is great value. We will definitely be back!
